Janakpur Royals fall short by 6 runs in Qualifier 1

Janakpur Royals fell short by 6 runs to Lumbini All Stars in the first Qualifier of the ongoing 2022/23 Nepal T20.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, the All Stars posted 143/6 in the allotted 20 overs. Ishan Pandey top scored with 38 for the All Stars. Jitendra Mukhiya 2/15, Ashan Priyanjan 2/16, and Sompal Kami 2/19 shared the spoils for the Royals.

In reply, Janakpur Royals were able to post 137/7 falling short by 6 runs. Opener Shrafuddin Ashraf scored 24 from 19 balls. Whereas Shamiullah Shinwari (45 from 31 balls) and Pawan Sarraf (30* from 19 balls) took the Royals chase close.

Dipendra Singh Airee picked 2/9 for the All Stars and was well supported by Sagar Dhakal (2/20), and Bipul Sharma (2/21).   

The Royals face the winner of Biratnagar Super Kings vs. Kathmandu Knights next on 10th January in Qualifier 2. The winner of the match will enter the Final of the tournament. The match is scheduled to start at 12 pm.
